"I majored in psychology in the philosophy Department of Limengkan University. When I first wanted to volunteer as a philosophy major, I was talked a lot by people around me. After graduating from the undergraduate course, he was promoted to a master's program at Zhongjing University and a doctoral student at the University of Ontario in western Canada to study cognitive psychology. After the doctoral program, he returned to Japan and worked as an external lecturer and a researcher at Zhongjing University. Then, when the well-timed Canadian research proposal wavered, it found a teacher recruitment for language psychology at Waseda University. What kind of knowledge does the teacher teach in the psychology of language?
"how to explain the category of language psychology? this is a very difficult place. In English, even if there is Psycholinguistics (psycholinguistics), there is no word Linguistic Psychology (language psychology). I originally studied the field of visual word cognition in cognitive psychology, and I considered language psychology as one of the things contained in this field. When reading an article, in order to understand the sentence, the meaning of the words that make up the article must be restored in the brain. In order to restore the meaning of words, we need to search the vocabulary knowledge we retain according to the visual information. In what form do we keep the knowledge of words such as spelling, pronunciation and meaning in our minds? In addition, what are the characteristics of the process of retrieving these vocabulary knowledge? I study the reading of these words through psychological experiments and computer simulations. Through these studies, language psychology aims to understand the cognitive process of language, as well as the structure and characteristics of human information processing systems. "

"it's one of my pleasures. When one problem is solved, the next problem arises. If we repeatedly solve one problem after another, we will find new discoveries and new topics. "what impressed me most was the doctoral thesis research conducted in Canada. Because this is the starting line for studying life. In addition, this is all I have done, the first research published in a magazine (Journal of Experimental Psychology, etc.). The content is the research on the effect of polysemy and the research papers on the reasons why polysemous words react faster than synonyms. Then, taking this study as a starting point, there were all kinds of questions, which led to a lot of later papers. In this sense, I think this study is my origin. "
What kind of research do you want to do in the future?
"We plan to conduct a study called Japanese Lexicon Project. This study takes almost all the words in Japanese as the object, collects the data of visual vocabulary judgment, reading aloud, auditory vocabulary judgment and choreography, and makes its database public. In addition, it not only aims at college students, but also collects data from many age groups, such as children and the elderly, on the basis of limiting vocabulary. Based on the database made in this way, the overall vocabulary data are used to re-study the effects of the variables reported in experiments using a relatively small number of words so far. at the same time, explore how the effects of each variable vary with visual and auditory features and age. These data serve as basic data and are intended to produce studies for tests for the detection of developmental aphasia. Moreover, the developmental aphasia test based on a large amount of action data collected in this study is expected to become very reliable in the real world, it will also make a great contribution to the realization of a safe society and the improvement of the quality of life.
