``Snap Camera'' released, Snapchat's ``lens'' for videos on PC-link with Twitch
There is no doubt that the "lens" is the most fun element of "Snapchat". Snap is now making Lenses available to people who don't have a smartphone or a Snapchat account.
On October 26th, Snap announced the standalone PC application "Snap Camera". Snap Camera lets you use effect "lenses" on computers with attached or built-in cameras. With so many different Snapchat lenses to choose from, it's like Apple's Photo Booth has been enhanced.
Snap Camera's purpose is not just to take interesting pictures and videos and save them to your computer. Snapchat lenses can be used in third-party PC applications by selecting the Snap Camera feed as your camera output. That means you can choose to use Snapchat Lenses while video chatting on Skype or Google Hangouts. Alternatively, you can shoot a YouTube video with the lens enabled.
Snap will also work with live streaming service Twitch to allow streamers to use Snapchat lenses during live streams, and Twitch streamers and viewers to use custom "Twitch Lenses". It has also announced that it will be possible.
According to Snap, you don't need a Snapchat account to use Snap Camera on your PC. Snap Camera is available for download at snapcamera.snapchat.com.
