Sharp, AQUOS 8K "DW1" compatible with YouTube 8K video playback-AV Watch

Sharp is a new model of the 8K LCD TV AQUOS 8K equipped with a BS8K/BS4K/110-degree CS4K tuner, the "DW1" series that supports YouTube 8K video playback. will be released on June 12th. The price is an open price, and the expected retail price is around 495,000 yen for the 70-inch "8T-C70DW1". The 60-inch "8T-C60DW1" is around 385,000 yen.

The successor to the 8K compatible TV "BW1" series released in November 2019. In order to keep the price affordable, the BW1 had a specification of "8K input support & 8K tunerless", but the DW1 has a built-in 8K tuner, while achieving almost the same price as the previous model.

In addition, the engine "Medalist Z2", which has improved processing performance by about 1.6 times (compared to the previous engine), has been installed, and image quality and operability have been updated. The unique control algorithm "Smart Active Contrast" enables 8K image display with sharper and higher contrast than conventional models. It also has a built-in microphone for hands-free voice control.

DW1 adopts a low-reflection N-Black panel and is located in the high-grade line among AQUOS 8K. The top-end "CX1" equipped with a low-reflection 8K Pure Color panel will continue to be sold even after the DW1 goes on sale.
