Scan documents on Chromebook camera → New features such as PDF conversion and control of external camera --ITmedia NEWS
On November 30th (local time), Google introduced the new features of the Chromebook camera. It doesn't mention a specific version, but it's available on my Chromebook (with Chrome OS 96) (possibly a feature added in earlier versions).
"Scan" is added to the selection item on the shooting screen of the camera application of the Chromebook, and if you tap this and point the lens at the document, it will be detected as a document and the document range will be surrounded by a blue frame, so press the shutter button in that state Tap it to save it as a PDF.
If you select "Scan" and point the camera at the document, the shooting candidates will be surrounded by a blue frame and "Document" will be displayed.Although it becomes a PDF, it does not detect characters and save them as text like Android's "Google Lens".
Saved files can be shared with other devices via Near by Share.
You can also read the QR code by selecting "Scan"-> "QR code".
If you have an external camera connected for web conferencing, etc., you'll be given the option to pan, tilt, and zoom the camera, which allows you to adjust the shooting range.
