Azoop, which operates the "Trackers" series of platforms for the transportation industry, announced on the 24th that it will raise about 900 million yen in the first close of the series B round. This round was led by Monoful, a subsidiary of the Japanese subsidiary of GLP, the world's leading logistics company, and JAFCO (TSE: 8595) participated.
This follows his Azoop Series A round in April 2019. The company said that after the second closing of the series B round scheduled for February next year, the total amount of the series B round will reach about 1.3 billion yen and the cumulative procurement amount will reach about 1.8 billion yen. JAFCO who participated this time is a follow-on of the series A round.
Azoop was founded in May 2017 by Mr. Park Kison and others from Recruit. Park's family business is a mid-sized trading company that has been in the business of buying and selling used trucks in Aichi Prefecture for many years. When Azoop receives a message from a shipping company that it wants to sell a truck, it obtains the truck information and posts it on Trackers. Buyers can procure used trucks cheaper than the market price, and sellers can save time and effort at disposal.
Azoop plans to use the funds raised this time to increase the number of vehicles handled on the vehicle trading platform, strengthen the system for transportation business support SaaS business growth, and use it for marketing activities. In addition, with the investment from Monoful, we will support the provision of value by expanding the number of vehicles handled in the vehicle trading platform and improving profits from trucks to transportation companies while utilizing the customer base of the GLP Group.
