Framework for biodiversity conservation that deepens discussions in COP15

　Biodiversity cultivated in the climate of each region supports our clothing, food and shelter in the form of ecosystem services.For example, 75 % of the main crops rely on pollination.Many drug discovery and cosmetics are inspired by microorganisms, as represented by penicillin.The loss affects the quality of our lives.

　The COP10 adopted a long -term goal of realizing a world that naturally coexist with nature by 2050, and Aichi targets with 2020.The "post 2020 goal", which is the successor to the Aichi target, is determined by COP15.

　Since 10 years, domestic and overseas movements related to biodiversity have been active, following the entry into the Nagoya Protocol, and the Inter -Agency Science -Policy Platform (IPBES) has been born.In particular, the activity is becoming more active in Europe, and the European Union (EU) announced in May 2005 with a “biological diversity strategy up to 2030” and “strategy from farm to dining table”.As a common goal of the two, the ratio of organic agriculture in consideration of biodiversity was increased by 30 years.
