Infusion Co., Ltd. (located in Yokohama City) has announced that its main service, the cloud / SaaS inventory management system “Inventory Suite Cloud”, will meet the operating conditions from March 2, 2022 (Wednesday). We will abolish the specification of the model of the handy terminal that was previously used, and expand the target Android handy terminal. At the same time, we will provide new functions optimized for different handy terminals.
By expanding the target handheld terminals, users can choose mobile devices from a wide range of options, from general smartphones to special terminals such as refrigerated, explosion-proof, and medical models.
In "Inventory Suite Cloud", we will provide a cloud inventory management system that matches the characteristics of each site, aiming for 1,000 installation sites.
Various handy terminals available
■Background of Androidization of Handy Terminals and Abolition of Model Designation
Handy terminals are business mobile devices equipped with a dedicated barcode reading module.
In the past, many handy terminals were equipped with Windows for small machines. However, iPhone appeared in 2007, Android smartphone appeared in 2008, and Microsoft announced withdrawal from Windows Mobile in 2017. Since then, many handheld terminals have been equipped with Android.
Even with Android, it is common for each system to specify the model that can be used because the hardware of handy terminals varies greatly depending on the model. However, there was a problem that it was not possible to meet the needs of all sites with only the designated models, and there was a need for handheld terminals that could be used openly as long as the operating conditions were met, just like smartphones. Therefore, we decided to provide new functions optimized for each handheld terminal and abolish model designation.
■ New function to optimize for different models
We will release the following new features so that different smartphones and handy terminals can be used comfortably.
Part 1. ON/OFF of camera reading
Although camera reading is necessary for smartphones, it causes confusion for handy terminals equipped with barcode reading modules. You can set ON/OFF for camera reading for each model.
Part 2. ON/OFF of the software keyboard
Handy terminals are divided into types with and without a numeric keypad. If there is no numeric keypad, a software keyboard is required when entering quantities, but if there is a numeric keypad, the screen becomes difficult to see, so it is unnecessary.
You can set ON/OFF for each model.
Part 3. Footer button color scheme
Some handy terminals have function keys in addition to numeric keys. The footer button at the bottom of the screen corresponds to the function key, and depending on the model, the color of the footer button can be matched to the function key.
App optimized for hardware

(1) For freezing
A handy terminal that can be used at -30 degrees and has a built-in heater to prevent condensation. It is used in cold storage, etc.
(2) Explosion proof
This is a handy terminal that has acquired domestic explosion-proof standards. It is used in petroleum complexes, chemical plants, power plants, etc. where there is a risk of gas explosion.
(3) Medical
A handy terminal that uses medical plastics (DRHs) that can be cleaned with a medical disinfecting cloth.
(4) For long range
This is a handy terminal that can be read from a distance of 3 to 10m. It is mainly used when operating without getting off the forklift.
