News
In the early hours of the 5th, Facebook and Instagram became inaccessible. After checking with the editorial department, it is not possible to access the Facebook disability status page or the company's official blog.
Around 1:00 on the 5th, the editorial department confirmed that Facebook and Instagram could not be accessed from smartphone apps, browsers, or computers.
Overseas, WhatsApp and messenger are also reported to be out of order. You can't even access the Oculus website, which is a VR product or service. On Twitter, there are many reports that users in Japan and overseas are unable to access the site.
At around 1:20 on the 5th (Japan time), the official Facebook and Instagram Twitter accounts acknowledged the failure and tweeted that they were working to restore it.

[Additional 2021/10/05 1:52] John Graham-Cumming, CTO of Cloudflare, which provides corporate solutions, posted on his Twitter account about this Facebook outage. According to this, it appears that a problem has occurred in the control information (BGP, Border Gateway Protocol) for the route that exchanges data.
