REALME's cheap smartwatch "Realme Watch S" reviewed finally landed in Japan
Originally, RealMe was born as a low -cost terminal brand for OPPO India. After that, it became an independent company independently of OPPO, but RealMe announced that it was in Japan.Unfortunately, smartphones are not yet, but wireless earphones and smart watches have been announced as the first product.
Related RealMe has launched 5 products in Japan, and 10,000 yen including tax, AirPods -style earphones, etc.
I've tried the smartwatch "Realme Watch S" for a while, so I will deliver a simple review.
Smart watch with a large display
RealMe Watch S is 1.A smart watch with a 3 -inch (360x360) display, the case diameter is about 47mm and the thickness is about 12 mm.It is a slightly larger category for a smartwatch.
The case is made of aluminum and does not feel cheap for the price. The back is a plastic and a heart rate sensor.Silicon band is included as standard, which can be exchanged for commercially available ones.By the way, the width is 22mm.
The charging stand is dedicated.Although it looks like a wireless charging, it is a type that charges with a pogopin, and it cannot be charged unless it is a specific direction (the right side of the cable).
The function is closer to fitness
The overall function is a large fitness tracker than a smart watch. You can display your smartphone notification or incoming call, but you can't respond on the RealMe Watch S (no microphone).
The operation is simple, the notification is displayed by swipe from the top to the bottom, the display of various applications from the bottom, the left and right swiping, the quick setting, the number of steps, and the weather are switched to various widgets.
The app list can also be displayed from the button on the upper right of the main unit.Other than this button and home screen, it also works as a "return" button. In the lower right button, a workout menu is displayed.
Some exercise, such as walking and running, will not be recorded automatically unless you start from this menu.
In addition, the heartbeat corresponds to the measurement of 24 hours (at least 5 minutes intervals). It also supports SPO2 measurement, but this is only for manual measurement.SPO2 has the image of measuring during sleep and the quality of sleep, but unfortunately there seems to be no such function.
There is also a function that can be used as a remote shutter of a smartphone camera.Although it is not unusual for smartwatches, it is often used only on its own terminals such as Samsung and Huawei, but RealMe Watch S can be used on any terminal.
However, functionally does not directly operate the camera, only emulates the volume button of the smartphone. On the camera app side, it cannot be used unless the operation of the volume button functions as a shutter.
Various settings are from RealMe Link
The smartphone companion app is RealMe Link.It supports Android and iOS, but at the time of writing (April 4), the iOS version of the application could not be downloaded from Japan.Probably, it will be possible to download it at the time of release.
In the app, you can check various measurement values, specify the application that displays the notification, and set the monitoring interval of the heart rate.By the way, the measured data could be linked with Google Fit.
It also supports sleep measurement and automatically measured without operating. The depth of sleep is also displayed, and the basic functions seem to be available.
You can change the watch face from the app.You can also display your favorite photos. However, in this case, the display of the clock can only be selected, and the style itself is fixed.
Battery holding is very excellent. However, I am dissatisfied with the operability
Battery possession, which is important as a smartwatch, is very excellent. The nominal is to have 15 days, but if my usage (not exercising, I only display heart rate, sleep measurement, and smartphone notifications), about 5 % of battery consumption a day.Finished up.If you exercise or measure SPO2 frequently, the battery consumption is likely to increase a little, but I think it will last on the 15th without any problems.
However, the goodness of the battery is attractive, but there are some dissatisfaction with the operability.
First of all, there is no constant display option, whether the display is for the liquid crystal instead of AMOLED.The display of the display disappears at a certain time (up to 15 seconds) and cannot be confirmed to not move the wrist.
It is very troublesome to have to return your wrist each time when you look at the clock. At the very least, it would be nice to be able to turn off the sleep at the expense of the battery, but there was no option.
In addition, the sensitivity of the touch panel is not bad, but I feel that the reaction is bad because there is no animation of the screen transition. The screen switches suddenly with swipe, so I wanted a feeling of operating a little more.
As an overall impression, as I wrote earlier, a large fitness tracker on the screen is better than a smart watch.Nevertheless, it corresponds to measurement of SPO2 for 11,800 yen (tax included). The screen is large and the display is easy to see, so it may be good for those who are small and difficult to see with existing fitness trackers.
