Asked Mr. Jun Kamo, "How should I proceed with the Japanese company's DX?" | JDIR
DX (digital transformation), which is said to have three stages so far, has been added to the government's "solving social issues" by the government's efforts to decarate. What is needed to realize the new DX and how to proceed? We asked Mr. Kamizumi, the representative director of CDO CLUB JAPAN, a general incorporated association.
――How do you see the current status of DX in Japanese companies? Please evaluate when compared with overseas.
According to a survey of PWC and other places, about 60 % of Japanese companies are digitizing DX.On the other hand, about 10 % of companies have CDOs.It should be said that it has increased to about 10 %.However, in Europe and the United States, about 60 % of companies have set up CDOs, so this is a big difference.
I think Japanese companies probably have organizations to promote digitalization. But there is no CDO.In other words, I think that each organization is promoting individually in the absence of leaders.I guess it stops at the point of how to work on the first stage of DX, "Operation Transformation".
In 2013, in Europe and the United States, "Industry 4."0" has been advocated and we are working on transformation of the industry. After that, I have probably turned the cycle a few times to date and repeated trials and errors. In Japan, the first cycle has just begun, but it is a merit of Japanese companies to be able to obtain information on such overseas experience and failure.
Under these circumstances, a large social issue of the green society has been raised, and the whole world is trying to handle it.Japan is also being forced to work on it, but Japan has changed significantly due to external factors, led by black ships. In that sense, this is a chance, and companies can unite and work on transformation, so that they can go further.I think the last 10 years will be the game.
In 2020, Prime Minister Yoshiyoshi Suga declared that by 2050, it aims to achieve zero to exhaust the greenhouse gas as a whole, that is, to realize a carbon neutral, carbon neutral and decarbonized society. "The roadmap based on this declaration states that in 2030, the greenhouse gas will be reduced by 46 % from FY2013, and it will challenge further reduction.
In order to achieve this, it is necessary to change the energy structure, and companies and supply chains need to be transformed.Although it is a very difficult goal, if this can be achieved, it means that Japanese organizations have succeeded, so the last 10 years have been a game.
For example, in the manufacturing industry, the organization is still vertically divided. It is necessary to be able to cooperate with it with a horizontal skewer. It is also important to work on new businesses. To do so, you will need to collaborate with various ventures and a new department that promotes it.The agile of the organization is also important, and it is necessary to change the personnel system.
The goal of selling products by making goods as before is shifted to solving the social issues of the green society, so the whole organization must be changed. This is true not only in the manufacturing industry, but also for all industries.
